We Have The Skills and Expertise

Kevin W McCairn Ph.D. Systems Neuroscience & Brain Research. Systems Neuroscience is only but one of Dr. McCarins expertise. Please review his past experience.

Teaching Experience

  • 2012 – 2016. I was an invited guest lecturer for the RIKEN Brain Science Training Program. I delivered courses on basal ganglia physiology in health and disease, with a focus on Parkinson’s disease, Tourette syndrome, and deep brain stimulation.

Awarded Grants

  • 2012 – Decoding Cerebellar Contributions to Tourettism in Nonhuman primates. Grant-in-Aid –for-Scientific- Research (Kakenhi) Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) – JPY 5,000,000
  • 2014 – Decoding Global Networks Underlying Tourette Symptom Subtypes Using PET and Electrophysiological Methodologies. Tourette Syndrome Association – $150,000
  • 2016 – Deconstructing Cerebellar Contributions to Parkinsonism in the 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) Treated Monkey” Non-Linear Oscillology Group – JPY 3,000,000
  • 2017 – Multi-Dimensional Analysis of the Limbic Vocal Tic Network and its Modulation via Voltammetry Controlled High-Frequency Deep Brain Stimulation of the Nucleus Accumbens. Tourette Association of America – $ 135,000
  • 2018 – The Role of Phase Amplitude Coupling Through The Cortico-Basal Ganglia-Cerebellar Axis in The Emergence of Akinesia. Non-Linear Oscillology Group – JPY 3,000,000

Commercial Activity

  • SYNAPTEK Deep learning Solutions was created and registered in Japan as a limited liability company, specializing in the use of advanced techniques and analysis for neuroscientific applications in June of 2017.
  • The core business model is based on our Vulcan AI Deep Learning System, an advanced proprietary machine learning monitoring system, capable of qualitatively identifying different behaviors in freely moving animals while integrating that information with real-time acquisition of neural activity.
  • The system can also be used for advanced data analysis to probe complex systems for hidden causal interactions.
